Two horses for the course ...

The PGA Tour's regular season is complete. The tour begins a three-week playoff Thursday with the FedEx St. Jude Championship, which features the top 70 players in the FedEx Cup standings. The top 50 scorers in the 72-hole, no cut event will advance to next week's BMW Championship.

RBROWNBETS: Typically, we try to avoid betting on two (and only two) favorites in baseball on the same day. Why? Because a split still loses money. We paid the price (albeit a small one) for violating our own rule Tuesday night, when we won with the Blue Jays, but had a loser with the Brewers. We were hoping play the Red Sox and plus money Wednesday, but they are -119 favorites. So no plays in MLB, but we do have two outright selections to recommend in the St. Jude Championship:

Viktor Hovland (+3700): Hovland said he loves the TPC Southwind course, and he finished second here in 2024. The price is more than fair for someone with his talent. If he can keep it in good position off the tee he should be in contention Sunday.

Si Woo Kim (+3300): Five top-five finishes this season, and his putting has improved significantly this summer. Has the game to pick up his first win of the season here.
