Cease-Fire

The ACC outlook from a betting perspective ...

RBROWNBETS: It's always good for the confidence level when an underdog comes through like the Blue Jays did Monday night, when the Red Sox scored their only run on one of the strangest plays you'll ever see. We'll try to build on that momentum with two recommendations Tuesday:

Brewers (-118) over the Padres

Left-hander Kyle Harrison (9-2, 2.84 ERA) will start on the mound for the Brewers. Harrison is coming off an overpowering outing Wednesday in a 4-2 win over Pittsburgh. He recorded eight consecutive strikeouts at one point and limited the Pirates to one hit in five shutout innings before departing because of cramps. When he exits the mound Tuesday the guess here is the Brewers will be in good position to win the game, and they have a rested bullpen to do so.

Blue Jays (-136) over Red Sox

Boston's magical run seems to be over. The Red Sox have lost three in a row and the lackluster offense they had early in the season has returned. This pick is all about Dylan Cease being able to quiet the Boston bats. Cease has a 29 percent strikeout percentage against the Red Sox in their 104 plate appearances against him. Wilyer Abreu and Willson Contreras, Boston's No. 3 and No. 4 hitters, are 6 for 28 against Cease, who has allowed one earned run in his last 23 innings. Expect Boston's losing streak to reach four games.
